Choose thoughts to be in alignment with what you desire in life

Science of Mind magazine
Science of Mind magazine

Our thoughts are the programming mechanism for how our brain is programmed to relate to all aspects of life and our inner selves.

AND our brain determines how our life is lived.
PLUS it is the organ that allows us to interface between this world of form and the creative world of infinite possibility thereby shaping our own experiences in life.

Thus it seems that the way our brain is programmed is an important part of us that we would do very well to organize it and learn best ways to use this key quality of life organ the way it is designed to be used.

Here is a Daily Guide from the Science of Mind magazine:

Within the acorn is the mighty oak

God gave me the ability, with the rest up to me… We have to believe, believe, believe.
Billy Mills, Lakota Olympian

When we shall have arrived at a sufficient understanding,
our thought will take us where we wish to be.
The Science of Mind, page 340

An old song says, “Want a carrot, plant a carrot, not a brussel sprout.” This farming example clearly shows that the seeds you plant in the garden become the plants you get at the harvest. Within the seed is the entire idea of the plant, encoded, ready to sprout, waiting for the warm, dark earth in which to germinate. What an amazing thought. Your part is to choose the seed and nurture the sprouts.

The same principle and law work in the mental garden. What you plant in mind, you will harvest in form. If you have an abundance of brussel sprouts but really prefer carrots, then it’s simple – remove the roots of the sprouts and plant carrots instead. If you have excessive thoughts about financial stress, remove them and replace them with conviction of financial well-being. Then nurture those new thoughts.

We say we know this, understand it, and still the stress seems to have some invisible grip on us. We refuse to stop worrying, complaining, being afraid, or to make better choices. We must learn how to break the patterns that keep us imprisoned in the lies of limitation. Ernest Holmes (info about him) said, “Successful people think about success. A successful man is filled with that subtle something, which permeates everything that he does with an atmosphere of confidence and strength.” Faith doesn’t happen by accident; we develop it by coming to believe, one thought at a time.

Affirmation to use:

This is my choice: My thoughts are focused on my desired experience.

Note: When you commit to changing your thoughts to be in alignment with how you want your life to be then I highly suggest this magazine. It has great articles, monthly columns and daily readings like the one above. One of the columns is by the neuroscientist I mention in class, Mark Robert Waldman, bestselling author of How God Changes Your Brain

You have heard me talk about tuning your mind to the right channel. Read some positive new thought material in the morning to tune your mind to curiosity and contemplating a new thought throughout the day. This helps to keep your mind tuned to a channel for having new experiences in life.

An Awesome Choice We Make, Daily & in Every Moment

Rev. Beckwith Agape
Michael Bernard Beckwith & Agape

This writing is inspired by the sermon that Marianne Williamson gave at the Agape International Spiritual Center this morning. This is the Spiritual Center of Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith; from the movie The Secret, Oprah, Larry King Live, on the world stage. You can see his Sunday service online at www.agapelive.com. It is more than just an uplifting experience. Marianne Williamson, www.marianne.com gave an incredible talk, inspired and practical; mind and heart enhancing.

[For people who are not familiar with some terms. ‘Go to level’ means to meditate while staying focused. Beta mind refers to your experience of the world as you know it with your eyes open and fully engaged with your senses.]

One reason to go to level frequently, at a minimum daily, is to wash away the stresses from yesterday in order to keep yourself from going stress-psychotic and reacting to this world of form in destructive ways through destructive thinking.

Let us take a short journey through the limited world of being normal.

Our five physical senses do a great job at showing us ‘what is’, what is in our life now, the problems, the judgments, the pains, the world news, etc. The world detected by this and our emotions is a world that already exists. And in this outer world, some may call the ego world, we only have the mortal thoughts with which to handle it. These mortal thoughts and reactions will keep this outer world doing what it knows how to do since, in this mind state, all thoughts and ideas come from your collected database  of knowledge of ‘what is’ and ‘what has been’ and are experienced by and stored through your beta mind into the left hemisphere. We know this well; it is the origin of any problems we may experience.  And it keeps building and we get more stressed and we react more so out of self righteousness and indignation, qualities of our limited ego mind that thinks it is separate from us and from everyone else. We get to be right. The price of being right is illness, negativity, doubt, misguided deeds, separation, feelings of inadequacy, etc. The ultimate price of being right is living a disconnected existence, living small and not doing what and not being who we came here to do and be.

Let us take a journey through the unlimited world of BEING.

By going to level you are entering into a meditative state, a prayerful state, a place from which you operate from your centered being where you are connected to the infinite intelligence through your intuition. It is as if you left the apparent world of form with all its baggage, walked through a hallway and emerged into the majestical Theater of All.

The first benefit is that outside world experience begins to fade away as you turn your attention to your inner self and its world of possibilities. Any built up stress begins to immediately drain from your body. Any built up negative thinking begins to immediately drain from your mind. If that is not enough of a reason then…

The second benefit is you plug into increased intelligence, to commune with the infinite creativity using your intuition. By entering this world of cause daily you are choosing to empower that infinite potential self within. You are choosing to dis-empower that limited self that lives without; without the saving grace of new and creative thoughts that lead to an expanded life.

The third benefit is that once you have disconnected from ‘what is’ and connected to ‘what can be’ you can now generate ‘what shall be’ from your unlimited, loving, compassionate, expansive, inspiring, awesome, vision-driven, infinite and authentic self.

Let us now call upon our divinely-given skill of Free Will and make a choice.

What have you chosen? What do you choose now?

Imagine making this choice every day.

Imagine making this choice with eagerness.

Imagine facing each day born anew and feeling unencumbered by the past.

Imagine intuiting empowering thoughts from your unlimited potential.

Imagine witnessing your own transformation as they become the majority of your thoughts.

Imagine, as a direct result, feeling empowered and transformative feelings.

Imagine allowing your perfect life to unfold from within driven by your Highest Vision and Purpose.

Imagine Living as an expanded BEing.

Imagine Living in an expanded World.

Imagine It. Be It. Live It.

And, So It Shall Be. And, So It Is.

Meditative Thought from Michael Bernard Beckwith

How do we become authentically, totally free? Is it even possible in the three dimensional realm? My personal conclusion is that we cannot find absolute freedom in the external world. We have to go beyond the five senses of the outer world and enter the fourth dimensional inner realm where we use our sixth sense, intuition, to directly contact the authentic self.

The authentic self is formless-no description on Facebook or Twitter can describe the authentic self, It is made of pure consciousness. The more deeply we move towards actualizing this awareness the more we infuse our outer lives with its beauty and freedom has tremendous beauty.

Freedom

A few of us went downtown Austin for the 4th of July Fireworks and the Austin Symphony Orchestra. It was fun to be along Town Lake and it was a good show.

As I was laying back and staring at the sky I wondered what Freedom means to me. There are the standard concepts… A founding principle of this nation in our Bill of Rights is freedom. Our troops help us maintain our freedom. I think of an eagle, fireworks, sparklers.

Then I began to wonder: What does Freedom Mean to People on a very personal level? When someone thinks or says ‘freedom’ what is it that is going on inside. I first think about our Free Will, a quality of our thought process that we are born with and I cherish very dearly. This assures me that my thoughts are ultimately my choice. I get to choose them… And knowing as much as we know about how Thoughts Create Reality then there is always room for hope. We can always change our lives by first changing our thoughts. This is one thing about the Silva Method classes that is generally not spoken about; it teaches you how to think differently giving you management privileges and skills for your thought processes. Very empowering.

Then I considered those great feelings I have experienced many times in life; a visceral sense of freedom that comes when a set of old stale patterns/beliefs/thoughts melt away.  That sense of freedom that comes when somehow, some way I feel as though the mental walls of my life’s possibilities has rapidly expanded. This usually can occur in classes that focus on personal experience. [I am working to bring back a transformational weekend experience I used to do; it was titled Creating Real Magic. This class was an environment for people to let go of their old walls and to imagine going beyond them.]

Then I wondered about how many times my own limiting and personally oppressive thinking has held me back. The joyous part of that realization is to then feel the personal freedom I just reclaimed for my living. I now get to use my imagination and think more expansive thoughts that will lead me to a more expansive life. Freedom is an aspect in the environment of life in which I have the Free Will to choose the direction of my life. This, to me, is a new opportunity to feel greater joy and love about my life. The sense that the intent of life is leading us on an upward spiral and providing us with what we desire is reassuring.

“The road to freedom lies not through mysteries or occult performances, but through the intelligent use of natural forces and laws.” Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind

Brain Research Confirms a Yoga Practice

Kirtan Kriya Sa Ta Na Ma Practice & Current Brain Scan Research
Kirtan Kriya Sa Ta Na Ma Practice & Current Brain Scan Research

Did you know that current brain scan research proves increased frontal lobe brain activity after just 8 weeks of a simple practice done 12 minutes a day? Improved activity in this area of the brain indicates increased ability to maintain clear, focused attention upon a task.

The practice is from Kirtan Kriya Yoga: the Sa Ta Na Ma Meditation; it sounds like a great and easy practice to do. I found this website with an easy description and pictures.

This is in the bestselling book How God Changes Your Brain: Breakthrough Findings from a Leading Neuroscientist. I am bringing in Mark Robert Waldman, co-author to Austin April 30, May 1 and 2 for a variety of individual events. He and his research partner Andrew Newberg, M.D. have been declared the world’s leading experts in spirituality and the brain by Time, Newsweek and the Washington Post. They currently conduct research on the neurological correlates of beliefs, morality, compassion, meditation, religious experiences, and spiritual practices.

The events with Mark are designed so that you can come for pieces of it or save money, learn some fascinating new findings about our brains and attend it all.

The events are listed here. Read about it, visit Mark’s website and consider joining us: http://www.mindtechnology.com/html/events.html

Have a great April, Lamar

Adult follows Child’s Map for Life

Who created the map you live by?
Who created the map you live by?

Whose
map
do you
rely on
to find
Life’s Treasures?

I was talking with a very insightful and psychic friend the other day and he said something that was such a good way to put ‘it’.

The child makes the map that the adult lives by.

In some classes we talk about how as a child your initial job is to watch, learn and absorb how those ‘big people’, adults, do life. The child is building belief systems, learning what to do in specific situations and what not to do and generally learning how to relate to all the aspects in this life.

So, if you had great role models, adults, around you then you learned some great ways to handle life. BUT if you didn’t then… you end up taking workshops 😉

Take a moment to contemplate what this means to you. As an adult your Treasure Map for finding your Life’s Treasures was created by you when you were a child.

There is so much to this… and this is a BIG part of my motivation to teach and coach those who want new Treasure Maps.

What is on your map for finding the treasures in your career?

What road does your map take you down when you consider romantic relationships?

What about health, money, friends, fun…

Take a moment today and look at the path you have been following? Is it still valid after all these years? Or does it need a bit of upgrading?

How Mentally Prepared Are You?

Mind Games: Making Olympians Mentally Fit

From National Public Radio, February 10, 2010

This is a great read for those who truly desire to achieve their goals.

Imagine yourself into achieving

“The No. 1 issue that I deal with the most — just how to handle the nerves … how to get rid of the mental anguish, be confident and perform the best.”

– Nicole Detling Miller, mental coach for the U.S. speedskating team

You can read this story here

Or listen to it here

The reason I post this is that the mind focusing skills and brain-based strategies I teach work for people who use them. AND one of the side effects that many people experience is an Achievement Lag Period where disruptions can occur. This is the prime time to practice and develop Achievement Mental Toughness, the ability to maintain your focus no matter what the distractions. Who better to learn from than those who are at the Top of their Game???

Watch for two things: 1) The use of variations of the word “imagine”. A well developed imagination is one of the four primary skills successful people use. 2) Notice the focus on the mind of the athlete. Your Mind is THE most powerful physical asset that you are born with. How much have you done to develop yours???

Excerpts:

Reutter and the other members of the U.S. Olympic speedskating team don’t have to suffer self-doubt alone. They had a “mental coach” to turn to before the Olympics. And University of Utah sports psychologist Nicole Detling Miller is with the skaters in Vancouver as they train and compete.

“Many of [the athletes] will tell you that the difference between the person at the top of the podium and fourth place is who was most mentally tough that day,” Miller says. “Who could handle the distractions and not get freaked out, not allow it to affect their performance [and] not allow it to prevent them from trusting themselves?”

Don’t be confused…

“Don’t be confused. A serious person knows what is important to him.” This is a line from a movie.

How true.

Later the same character said to expect only five minutes of feeling happy twice a year.

I choose a higher level of expectation.

Free eGuide to Create Your 2010

Choose + Clarify + Focus + Receive

This is a simplistic view at how every person creates, modifies and adjusts what they have/do/be in life.

The absolutely fantastic awesome rejuvenating news is that this is under YOUR control.

Everyone is doing this either intentionally or automatically. When we run on autopilot we are doing these steps automatically and they are based on the past… thus we keep having/doing/being the same things in life. That is good for those aspects of life that are always working well.

But what about those aspects of life that are not working so well?

Then it’s time to do something different. What better time than now… the New Year!

The end of each year is a great time to evaluate the current year to see what worked, what didn’t work and how much on the ‘right track’ you feel that life is going. This has become something I enjoy doing for the past many years.

So my New Year Gift to you, to say thank you, is your Personal Guide to Choose Your Life in 2010.

Success: One step at a time

A bowl of one success at a time
A bowl of one success at a time

My Zimbio
Recommend this site!

I have found it wonderful when people share their successes with me AND when I have people around me who get it that sharing success is a way of keeping it and creating more.

I just returned from holding my first Silva Method Meetup in San Antonio for my way of supporting graduates who want support and introducing new people to this. It went very well.

Here’s synchronicity for you. I stopped in Buda to get gas on the way to San Antonio this afternoon. A man was getting gas behind me and came over to ask me about what I did; he had seen the lettering on my Tahoe.

He commutes from San Antonio to Austin for work and was on his way home. I invited him to the meeting. He said he had a meeting but asked where I was hosting the meeting so I told him. He ended up showing up and is very excited about what it could do for his life. Synchronicity. Intuition. Are they different? I passed up several gas stations in Austin and decided to stop on the highway; first time ever to do that. That’s what we teach and it works: to cause synchronicities and intuition automatically.

I showed up at the Unlimited Thought Bookstore and set up for my meeting at 7 pm. They said they had money for me. What? Ears perk up? One DVD, one Crystal Bowl CD and several Silva Method Long Relax CDs sold. This is my first ever retail store to have some product in AND it works. Yippee!

Anyone have any bookstores they want to suggest?

Be sure to check out my new Meetup Group for Silva Method for Austin and San Antonio. Sign up. I have a meetup scheduled in Austin on October 13th. http://www.meetup.com/Silva-Mind-Method-in-Central-Texas Most importantly, let me know what you want in a support meeting.

Thanks and success to you…

What is “useful” Intuition

Intuition is instinctive knowing (without the use of rational processes)
from wordnetweb.princeton.edu

This is one of the many layers of the Silva Method proven subjective educational system: to train a person’s mind to have an ever-increasing faculty of intuitive knowing.

Examples

I decided that I wanted a unique desk/table for my meditation area. I shopped every once in a while and could not find “it”; the right one. A month or so later I was in San Antonio before an event eating at the Souper Salad at 410 @ Blanco Rd. While eating I heard ‘go into the Goodwill’; there is one next door. I never go to Goodwill. I have friends who are great Goodwill shoppers; so I ask them to find things for me once in a while. I have gone in before but just couldn’t find anything. So I discarded the thought of going into Goodwill. I heard it again and again while eating.

I finally accepted that I should follow this persistent hunch and went into the Goodwill. I went up and down aisles and didn’t see anything. Then I walked to the back and found the unique desk-table that I looked and would work well for my meditation area. So, I bought it.

Now, I know even more so. Follow those thoughts that creatively enter my mind.

I’ll ask these questions that lead to different areas that many Silva Method graduates have had intuitive ‘hits’:

What if you were heading home from work and would hear to take a particular route so that you avoid a major traffic jam?

What if you are talking to a sales person and want to know if this is right for you to do?

Would it be an advantage to know what your client needs BEFORE you meet him or her?

If you are having difficulty communicating with someone, would it help to have the skill to detect what the problem might be?

What about knowing which place to move into that will be best for you? Or which job to take? Or what company to approach for a job? Or…

Many people have a difficult time comprehending the fact that they can simply take a class that trains their minds in a way that creativity, intuition and hunches start happening. The thing that I also find interesting is that many people want something different but when that something different is right in front of them it becomes “too weird” or “unbelievable” to do… even though there is decades of research and LOTS of people doing it… so that they live a better quality of life.

Here’s one more example for you: A realtor began a million-dollar closing club just 3 years after getting her license using all the Silva Method techniques. I have her telling her story on video; it’s great – all the poofy 80’s styles 😉 This was someone who really wanted success! The article she wrote is here.

How much do you truly want a better life? Or that job that is better than what you have? Or more income?
AND… What are you willing to do differently for it?

Quick Success from Silva Mind Body Healing

Tai Chi
Tai Chi

Led by a goal, following intuition.

This is called effortless manifestation. If I would allow myself to do more goals this way… what fun would that be?

I had a result from the Silva Mind Body Healing class. During that class I set as a goal to find a movement (aka exercise) that I would totally enjoy doing. As many recent students know I am currently in week seven of a self-prescribed minimum of three months detoxing, cleansing and eating strictly vegan.

I set this goal of finding the most perfect movement for my body that I would enjoy doing. Well, fast forward to the Tuesday after the class. I went to the south Austin Time Warner Cable office to exchange cable boxes. I left and was driving up South First street heading to the post office and I saw this sign that caused my car to drive into a corner shopping center.

I swear it. My car turned itself into this center when I saw the sign: ‘Qi Gong’ 😉

I thought, innocently enough: I want to go talk with them about what this is. I have had a curiosity since I first heard about it. But sometimes in my life I let my logical mind analyze to paralyze; then nothing changes. Hmmm. I have gotten a whole lot better with that one.

I had no inkling of doing a thing about it. I just wanted information; feed the logic. I signed up for six months of Tai Chi. Evidently this is the basis for learning Qi Gong. I just had my second lesson this evening. Loving it! Loving it!

As Graham was talking to me about it, showing me some moves and telling me how he had healed a heart problem that he was born with, I was reminded that through my spiritual training I have learned healing through spiritual mind treatment. Through my training with the Silva Method I have learned  healing techniques using my mind and hands. Maybe it is time that I learn to move the life force energy even beter through physical movement and learn from a system that has been around for thousands of years.

So I followed my instinct that day and turned in ‘just to inquire’ and ended up being led to my goal: the most perfect way to move my body with purpose as I continue to cleanse, detox and release unnecessary weight. Who knows where this may lead. I’ll just enjoy the journey for now.

Wanna join me? Monday and Wednesday evening 6:45 to 7:30 pm.

It’s bring a friend week: You can come for free Monday, September 7 and Wednesday, Sept 9. Let me know.

Silva Mind Body Healing class days 2 & 3

Feeling Lighter Already
Feeling Lighter Already

Well, the week got away from me. I ended up volunteering to be the evening host for dinner Tuesday through Thursday since there were so many people who have never visited Austin. Sam, the director from Australia said that he had never eaten Mexican food; sacrilege. Tuesday evening we went to our favorite Chinese restaurant – Din Ho Chinese BBQ. Wednesday we went for “healthy” Mexican food at Vivo and Thursday to Hula Hut.

At this point in class I have chosen more than 20 holistic health goals. I have written out a description of this. We continued the class by focusing our awareness on healing and increasing the wholeness of our different bodies. We all have four main bodies that comprise the wholeness of our life experience and expression. These are the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual bodies.

An interesting point that Laura made was that we can all see the development of our physical bodies and can measure, in general, the development of our mental body. However, when it comes to a lot of peoples’ development of their emotional and spiritual bodies they/we are lacking. Maybe this is because we cannot see the effects like we see our physical body. We do not see the development of our emotions. They are ‘seen’ through our reactions and responses in relationships. And since people are not schooled that they are supposed to keep shaping and improving their emotional body many people do not address this. School does not address this. Families are supposed to. But how many people come from a family of emotional intelligence? <Excuse me. Let me pick myself off the floor from falling over laughing.> And, quite often, we leave our spiritual development up to some authority in a religion that does not give us personal empowerment in this arena. We are supposed to leave this up to someone else’s interpretation.

Like I tell people about the Silva Method classes: Learn to direct your own mind because there is always someone else who is very ready to direct your mind for you… for their agenda. Don’t let them.

I acknowledge a man named Frank Natale, The Natale Institute, for first teaching me that I had an emotional range that went beyond anger or “I am fine”. That is the range that my family of origin taught me. It does not get you very far in life. Through my intense trust of Frank I went through a deeply moving, sometimes very difficult process of learning that there are many nuances of emotions. I trained with him and another of his teachers for years AND I apprenticed with them for some of that time to do what he did. I understand the beauty of our emotions and how they guide us as a feedback system telling us where we are in life. Even more importantly, we can/do generate our emotions to be in alignment with our chosen goals in life. This is called creation. An ever-increasing adeptness at generating emotions that correspond to already having your goals directly corresponds to your skill at manifesting.

I found it interesting that Wednesday morning I had some release of emotions that was very subtle. It happened without cue, randomly. I recognized that it was just old unnecessary energies being released from me. The class was working – the healing process.

In the class we learned some healing techniques, center of the galaxy, soul mold and others. In fact, I had immediate feedback for the class from a lady who had had an accident who repeated a portion of the Silva Life System class in San Antonio a few weeks ago. We did one of these techniques Tuesday late morning. She knew I was in the class and I had told her I would do what I can while there. She emailed me that night saying that at that same time she all of the sudden had a burst of energy and clarity to work with the rest of the day. Makes you go… hmmm

I am very pleased with this new Silva Mind Body Healing class. It is a very beneficial class. Some of us teachers will be suggesting changes and ideas so that Laura can complete it and get it to work in a two-day format. Then we will be trained to teach it. I’ll keep you posted.

New Mind Body Healing class

OLD POST.

I am attending the Silva International Conference this week in Austin.

The new Silva Mind Body Healing class is today (Monday through Wednesday). Then “The Lost Sense” class is Thursday. Then the weekend conference is Friday afternoon through Sunday.

I have to admit that today surprised me with the amount of self-realizations that occurred during the three different mind-directing cycles.

We began the day by writing down at least 20 Holistic Health goals and writing out a description of who we are as a vibrant and healthy person. Then we did what is necessary for any effective functioning of the mind: Relaxing Mind and Body.  Laura Silva, the president of Silva International, is teaching this to the public for the first time. In that relaxation exercise we created a vibrant vision of each part of our body shining with healing light. With typical specific style, which make the Silva Method so effective as a manifesting and healing system, we focused on specific body systems and areas.

I felt subtle shifts in my body throughout the rest of the day after this one.

We then looked at good stress and bad stress and the 5 core emotions that stress triggers in people: hopelessness, helplessness, abandonment, rejection, things are out of control. From there we identified the specific events and triggers in our lives that we react with anger and fear. After this we did a mind cycle and re-programmed our minds to respond in the same situations. Of course, we use directed and focused imagination at the proper brain frequency to reprogram our responses to triggers.

The last exercise we did was in a mind cycle where we identified a belief that is hampering any progress, identified the origin of the beliefs and reprogrammed that belief.

Wish me luck
