Allergies

I lived in Austin, Texas for more than 24 years. Besides having a natural beauty to it and a progressive vibe, It is a haven for allergies year-round. So much so that the weather forecast includes an allergy forecast for the current allergens.

Watching the news, I noticed them say things like ‘If you have lived here for 5 to 7 years you will get cedar fever’. Sometimes they would say ‘this is cedar fever season’. Cedar trees shake off their cedar pollens. They look like a massive cloud of dust coming off each tree and there are a lot of cedar trees.

Since I do my best to monitor and choose the thoughts that I let into my mind, I pick this stuff apart.

“You don’t tell me what to think”

“Cedar Fever Seasons!?!?” I would think, questioning them. There are 4 seasons in nature and it does include cedar fever.

After living there for more than the predicted 5-to-7-year affliction setting in time, I would question why they are saying these words? It was not true for me.

I had experienced it once for 6 months once and declared I never would again…and that’s the benefit of what I train; it works.

That’s like a belief someone else gives you and you take it on without considering the impact of it on your life.

The thoughts from others that you accept into your thinking, our consciousness, have an impact on you. Their impact is in the words, the intent of the statement.

Be your own thought input monitor. Choose what to believe.

Sneezing

In Austin I started sneezing 5 or more times about every 2 weeks or so. It is funny what people would say.

“Are you catching a cold?” No

“Do you have allergies?” No

“The flu is going around. I hope you’re not catching it.” I’m not catching the flu. I haven’t had the flu in decades.

The logical mind needs to understand things. Their brain is programmed to connect the act of sneezing with a health problem of some sort which inevitably becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Who wants that?

An untrained mind cannot handle that it is just a series of sneezes. The logical mind does not like change and not knowing. It has a need to explain everything. Nothing can be left up to the unknown. Why? The logical mind, the basis for the egoic awareness, needs to know. Your Mind does not have to know. The ego will come up with normal thoughts and sayings in culture to conclude as to why Lamar is sneezing so many times…even if it is wrong.

All because most minds cannot handle hanging out in the unknown. What a loss for so many. In the unknown hangout zone exists the portal for new ideas.

The intuitive mind and the heart center are not driven by that need to understand things. It does not need to know why. They are portals for new thoughts and feelings.

I finally started saying ‘no’ to their questions by saying that I think my body began doing this to keep the allergens, the pollens, out of my sinuses. That fed their need to know while maintaining my control over what thoughts I accept into me. I am in charge of that. No one else is unless I give them permission.

The body has its own intelligence and it knows how to handle some of these things…as long as we do not buy into them.

Mental Housekeeping

In some classes we do Mental Housekeeping to help bring forth a mindfulness of what thoughts people are having that are not their thoughts; those are thoughts from others that we have accepted as true. Therefore, they are now ours unless we do some mental housekeeping where we notice our thoughts and choose whether they benefit us, or not.

It is your mind.

They are your thoughts.

Like closet Spring cleaning,

give back to others their thoughts  that do not serve you.

Keep or trash your thoughts.

It is Your Life. Your choice.

You cannot hire a maid to come and do this Spring cleaning. LOL

Thought Directs | Stay Flexible

Thought Creates Reality with The Natale Institute is a class I took in Houston after living in the Far East right out of college. I was about 28 years old and an electrical engineer and searching for deep answers about life. This was eye opening. It was six weeks of learning how thought creates reality through somewhat straight forward and lots of outside the box ideas that helped to change my life, my thinking about life’s possibilities, and my modus operandi

I still use these concepts, modified and added to, to set the direction I am going in life.

New ideas are always great to try out. Though, what really matters is results and experiences. That is when it impacted me to shake up the way I thought about me, my life and possibilities.

Choose Your Thoughts => Choose Your Life

Don’t adopt my beliefs. Use these new ways and witness your own results.

In a class, I tell people to not adopt my beliefs blindly. Consider your life to be a scientific experiment. A scientist changes an ingredient in the lab and witnesses the changed result. I encourage students to use the concepts. Then witness the resulting changes in life. When people make their own beliefs as a result of this, those beliefs stick and positively effect their life.

How flexible are you? No, not physically…

One of the biggest things I learned was to make sure I keep my thoughts and beliefs flexible. We age by trapping ourselves into a box that worked when we were 20-something. But at 50-something life is too tightly defined and new adventures are not given a second thought.

For example: When I got my driver’s license and a car the cost of gas was $0.57 per gallon. If I go to fill up with gas and get upset that gas costs so much more, then I am not living in life as it is. My old belief does not fit into current world I live in. I have created a mental situation that will always upset me. Personally, I do not want to set myself up for that upset. So, I change my beliefs to keep up.

We always have a choice.

Remain in our box, meaning the limits of what we think is possible, is one choice. This is when we feel cramped and our wings need to expand. Ever felt like you could not expand yourself in life? Kind of like claustrophobia in an energetic box that is too small. A person might become an old curmudgeon holding onto the past too tightly. Ever met someone set in their ways and beliefs so tightly? Ever been that someone?

Does your life box have room for you to expand?

It just pisses us off if reality now does not match reality as we think it should be. Take that as a sign to change something within.

So, what’s the other choice? Update our thoughts and beliefs to match the current NOW in which we live. Are you flexible in your thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors? I found practicing these concepts I have been teaching and coaching for a while, help me feel younger than my physical age.

I have to remind myself when I get lazy about it…Lamar, remember. Keep going forward. Stay up with the times. Society evolves and so can you.

I am willing to have new experiences that are outside my life box. In fact, if my box feels way too tight or I am filled with fears and trepidation about my future…I will seek out a new experience that will blow my limiting life box to smithereens. Do not get me wrong. It is always scary. And I choose to do it anyway.

Kabooey! More room for personal freedom and expansion.

Scary as hell. Works so well.

I gave a lunchtime talk at a school for learning challenged children in San Antonio. The owner told me of a study that showed a link between how the teacher feels when s/he walks in to serve and the effectiveness of their results. She learned to use a quick self-centering method and then walked into the room.

Second, these techniques are easily understandable so they could convey some of this to help another person calm down, relax, focus more, etc.

Out of thousands, I have had a handful of doctors dare to take the class. Funny how experts do not need to learn other things. Two of them, only because their girlfriends told them to. When in a class that includes mental healing training, I always put them on the spot: Do you heal the patient? Or do you set the environment for the innate healing mechanisms of the body can do the healing? Of course, it is the latter. And that is what this mind training can help with a lot.

One doctor began an ER center in south Austin and we talked about using the techniques for his medical staff.

Students who want to study less while improving their grades. The results are always great. This studying method causes superior concentration, comprehension and understanding. It indexes learned information so that you have easier recall using the test-taking method.

One friend went from the bad Dean’s list for grades and was surprised at his graduation ceremony to have graduated with honors.

Your brain is the CPU, central processing unit, of your body. Is Your Heart Closed or Open?

For many people…

It is so much easier to close your heart than to heal it.

It is so much easier to avoid that difficult authentic conversation with a friend to clear things up and let your heart stay closed while damaging or ending that friendship.

It is so much easier to justify in your own mind why you are hurt and throw that pain on others rather than sharing it with a trusted friend to be able to let it out and let in some fresh air.

It is so much easier to throw out the skills that make your heart be able to love and share than to walk through the process to heal it.

It is so much easier to avoid authenticity, vulnerability, and intimacy – the skills of an open heart – than to cry some.

It is so much easier to close the door to a trusted friend when your heart is hurting.

It is so much easier to believe the gossip rather than talking authentically with the subject of that gossip.

It is so much easier to shut out the LIGHT of Life rather than walk through the unknown to nourish It.

When I write ‘it is so much easier to…’ the truth is it seems easier but is it?

…it seems easier, but is it? Really?

It seems easier only because you did not learn how to heal…yet.

Stop saying ‘time heals all wounds’

When your heart is hurting many people do what is easy: close off the heart, shut down the healing tears, and believe the saying that time heals all wounds. IT DOES NOT.

With time passing, you try to forget all wounds, burying them to become a part of the unconsciousness that drives your life choices…usually not in a healthy way.

It is often why you lash out at someone.

It is often why your depth of feelings are shallower than before.

It is often why you feel others are too distant from you while your closed heart creates this distance.

It is often why you feel separate from yourself and your dreams.

Where you come from within yourself is what you do to and for the world. What is your come from? Love? Fear? Skepticism? Doubt? Faith? Knowing? Pain?

Burying your pains

Those heart pains, those breakups, those friends who disappeared from you, those soured dreams, and those griefs just get buried.

With each burial you suppress your vulnerability (willingness to be ‘seen’ as is. No façade).

With each burial you lose your ability to feel as deeply again. Your friends, family, and lovers get less of your love and self-expression.

With each burial you cut the loving chords that establish closeness

With each burial you begin to fear intimacy (in-to-me-I-see). You do not share what is in your heart.

With each burial you lose touch with your internal life guidance system, gps.

With each burial an authentic part of you dies off.

With each burial you feel more alone. Your ONEness with others originates in your heart center.

With each burial you can only do what you have already done. Life expansion is squashed. Curiosity dies. Exploration ends. Self-expansion stops.

With each burial your seeking a better life withers away.

With each burial you build your walls higher and higher.

With each burial you lose a piece of you.

With each burial you put a foot into your own grave.

With each burial you justify becoming a part of the haze of normality. I consider this sort of a zombie-like state doing what you’re supposed to be doing, being as you are expected to be, doing what you have always done, and never heeding what is in your heart center to do and to become.

You become untethered from your soul because a closed heart prevents that deep connection.

It then hurts to be truly ‘seen’, to put yourself out there again. So, you don’t.

You are disabling your heart strengths. You lose touch with your inherent ability to love, to see a friend as they are, and you become less of a Light in this world.

What does this do to you the next time you feel that ‘falling in love’ feeling? You cannot fall into your heart to feel and express that love as deeply as you used to. You draw people into your life who also have shut off much of their creative self-expression which requires heart skills.

What does this do to you when you meet that possibly great friend? You do not call or answer him. You are unable to experience that part of your heart center. Its energies are clogged and stuck.

What does this do to that dream that has been whispering to you?

How does this hamper that informed yet risky move you know you need to make?

These are just some impacts of how an unhealed heart affects your life.

Dance like nobody’s watching; love like you’ve never been hurt. Sing like nobody’s listening; live like it’s heaven on earth.

Expressions of love from your open heart

To feel what is in your heart is an expression of love.

To follow your internal life GPS is an expression of love.

To hang with a friend is an expression of love.

To make love is an expression of love.

To open up to romance is an expression of love.

To love fully like never before is an expression of love.

To follow your dreams is an expression of love.

To listen to your hunches, your intuition, is an expression of love.

To step outside your comfort zone seeking more and better is an expression of love.

You are unique

There is only one of you on this planet with all the specialness, gifts, quirks that you are.

This is your one life to find the gift that lies within your uniqueness and to be who you are.

Having done your healing, you will be available to say ‘YES’. You are willing.

New Year! Transform the old unwanted into the New desired

At this time of year, I am reviewing things in life so that 2021 is better.

What is working in life? What is not? What can I adjust? What is important to me to do? What is my focus for 2021? Is there a theme that comes?

What has 2020 meant? Losses and effects from Covid-19? Stress level? What do I need to learn from this year? What was good?

Take some time to contemplate things like that, listening for ideas and answers. Journal it or jot some things down.

Then, come back to this…

Next steps

Choose something you do not like or want in life. Some lack, missing item, person, change wanted, adjust inner thoughts or something that needs a little adjustment.

Keep these three requirements in mind:

  1. You cannot control others. This is about you.

Now, I have told this to the thousands of students who have taken my brain neural programming skills and spiritual laws classes…And they don’t listen LOL Neither did I when I first began.

  • Do not pick the hardest item you have not resolved in years or decades.
  • Choose something that does not have a heavy weight or attachment to it. Pick a new adventure you want or something light and fun. These tend to manifest quicker.

Why start with something light to change?

Think about it. Normally, to change something in life there is a logical process to do so. We all know how to do this, well.

This is a different approach to manifest something you want in life. You will be tapping into the Laws of Life that are unseen. Everything comes from the unseen realm and eventually returns to the unseen realm. There are Laws that govern the unseen realm just like there are natural laws that govern the physical, the seen realm.

Try this out as a personal experiment. Choose something light, fun, and with no serious attachment. When you have it in life you will be proving to yourself that it works. Repeat your experiment on the second item. Once you have proven to yourself that it works…Then pick something that is not so light or has some heavy attachment.

This is also a great way to start expanding your life beyond the box in which you are currently living. This is an alternative way to live the life you desire.

Get a piece of paper and pen and sit somewhere comfy.

Write down the negative item or circumstance. Make it personal using the first person. Example: At work, I feel ____. My relationship needs something.  ___ isn’t working for me anymore.

Observe the thoughts you have about this negative item in your life. Have you had thoughts or beliefs that align with this result in life? Be honest with yourself. Write this below the negative item.

Take a moment to become mindful of the connection between your thoughts and this result in life. Do you see a connection? Is there a feeling within you that matches this result in life? In other words, what feeling do you have that comes with this undesired result?

Reflect for some more moments… How does this make you feel?

Above the negative item you wrote, write ‘I do not want this in my life’ or something like that.

Turn it around. Take ownership of creating what you want in life.

If you had the option to change this negative item, would you?

Answer that, then consider the following…

Think about this undesired feeling. How would you rather feel in that area of life? What feeling do you want to have concerning this area of life when it improves? Imagine feeling it.

Skip a line or 2, then write ‘I choose this result in my life’ or something like that.

Below that, write ‘I feel (your chosen feeling)’.

Now, consider this item you do not want anymore. What would you like instead that will make you feel how you want to feel? Just play with it. Play goes with imagination. You get to make up something new in life in order to manifest it. Could be fun. It could work.

Write down what you desire to have in life, on the next line.

Here comes the thread that weaves together the way you choose to feel with the new desired item in life.

You might take some time with this.

What thoughts align with having this desired feeling that leads to the chosen positive result? This is you backtracking to see what possible thoughts could support having the positive result you want. I have found that it works to think of someone who already has close to what I want to manifest. What thoughts must they have which lead to them having this? Adjust those for you. I actually, once, asked a friend who had a relationship I liked: “What are your thoughts and beliefs about this?” I then adopted her thoughts…they worked for her. Why not?

Use the power of your mental focus

Sit back, take a deep breath, and relax. Imagine that you already have this positive desired result. Feel it. What does it smell like? Taste like? Look like? Sound like? Feel like? Do you feel the feeling you chose you want to feel as you imagine it? This is your mental playground. Play with it.

In this, contemplate a new thought or new belief that supports your desired outcome. This thought would naturally lead to all of this becoming real. Make it up. Play with it. It does not have to be perfect. You can always change it with more clarity.

Once you think and feel you have it, write it down on the next line.

Ideas to fine-tune it

Finally, craft the thought into a more empowering thought. This is done by:

  • Stating it as if you have it now. Not when something else happens. Now. It is done and in your life.
  • Do not use words that separate you from having it now, such as may, might, will, hope, etc.
  • Weave the feeling into the statement. I am thrilled with my new car. It feels good going to my job. I really like the new person I’m dating. I love visiting and exploring Bali.
  • Don’t make it heady. Make it visceral so that you feel it when you think of it. This fuels it into becoming real.

Write this thought next. This is a supportive thought.

Past precedent does not dictate future outcomes.

Letting go of the old

Now you have a piece of paper with what you do not want, its supporting thought and feeling. When you feel absolutely ready to change it, use a red marker to make a definite X over it with a feeling of ‘it’s gone. I am ready for the new’. The red X is a strong signal to your mind.

Tear that part off. To release something and its energy, it is best to either burn it or flush it. Do either safely while letting go of it in your mind and your heart.

Creating the new

What I tend to do to make sure I am focusing more and more on my chosen desired item, is to write it on an index card and carry the final statement with me. For some, I have written it on post-it notes and stuck it on the mirror, the door frame, the car dashboard, on the electronic calendar, anywhere to keep it in your face.

At any time you think of the old unwanted…quickly recall your new chosen thought with the feeling that goes with it.

Be gently vigilant about doing this. In a short time, the old unsupportive thought and feeling fade away as you are choosing the new supportive thought and feeling.

This is your new thought. Own it. Repeat it and imagine it often and it will become your normal thought which will lead to it happening in your life.

There is a power for good in this life that is all around you, within you, and supporting you.

You have now initiated a change you want. Be patient.

As long as you continue to choose it and feel it despite no indication of it happening, it will happen. You are taking action every time you imagine it and feel it as if it is in your life now.

Remember this is an experiment. Keep at it and watch what ideas come, doors open, meet the right person, other ‘coincidences’…and sometimes it just comes right to you.

When you have manifested this, take time to congratulate yourself and contemplate how it came about. Then, you are ready for the next thing to change in your life.

If you are reading this, you are ahead of the game. Most will sit in their haze of normality instead of doing something different…which leads to having something different. You are taking your power back to live a more desired life.

Pain Elimination: Has a spinal implant, took morphine and oxycontins. Free of all meds now.

I met Michael Thurman and his partner at the time socially, at a MEETUP Group. We met some and talked over coffee. They invited me over for Thanksgiving. I always bring home made pecan pies.

After a great meal experience we all relaxed and chatted as their miniature pig, bird, cat, and dog found attention. The cute hyper billy goats were outside in the pen. A property line was either the Guadalupe or Colorado river. 

He told me about being in pain his entire life. We talked and I told him about training his mind to handle pain in order to eliminate it. After all he had been cut, medicated and diagnosed he did not really believe what I was saying would work.

I gave testimonials and my own experiences and answered his questions.

He has a spinal implant that intercepts the pain signals going to his brain with a control knob implanted under his skin where he can adjust the level. You are not in pain if that chemical signal does not reach the brain.

As I was getting ready to go, he told me he was taking morphine twice a day and taking several Oxycontin pills daily. I do not know how he functioned so well on his small farm and restoring furniture business, some for Hollywood sets. Beautiful work.

I offered him four phone sessions if he wanted to control his pain with his mind.

Michael was eager to get out from under the system that took an implanted device and two toxic medications to maybe get his pain under control.

The only side effect of managing your pain through directed thought is increased self-mastery.

Overview of the sessions with him

Session #1

I had emailed him a manual. I taught him how pain travels in the body, gets amplified by our thoughts and stress level, and the relaxation response. Also, pain is not continuous; it is in pulses of signals sent from the body to the brain where it is registered as pain. It is a series of pulses with a pause in between pulses. An Eastern technique is to identify, then expand the pauses. I like this PHD technique since the pain is gone quickly.

Then, I prepared him for the upcoming mind training to relax mind, body, and energy; the Empowering Whole Relax, i.e. The Wisdom Method.

I guided him through this forty-minute thought-focusing cycle to relax his body, mind, and inner energies and enter into the optimal brain level for releasing pain while reprogramming the brain neurons to make changes for this particular skill to become natural.

In my example, my body stopped causing headaches and other stress symptoms.

He received the 2 audio files to practice and deepen the mental program until the next session.

Session #2

Michael reported that he turned off the neuro-stimulator implant after our first session. Yea! Michael is ahead of the game. Good.

We discussed his pain level which was already reduced. Then into more detail of the causes for his pain. From that, I told him some about visualizing those areas of the body to heal and how to do that. 

PHD – Pain Headache Discomfort Shift

As with all these mind smart skills, I first explain what we are going to do to his logical mind. This is educational and to make sure it goes along with the new stuff for the brain.

Then I helped him upgrade his brain with this new Smart Skill. I invited him to sit comfortably then guided him into the optimal brain upgrade mode using his breath and mental focus. As I am speaking the new Smart Skill to him, the brain’s neural pathways begin to alter representing the new skill is programmed and usable.

Through this PHD Smart Skill, Pain, Headache, Discomfort shift into ease and comfort. This is a short, less than 5 minutes, process to eliminate the pain. As you continue to use it, the process becomes quicker.

We discussed the optimal way to use this PHD quick pain relief technique. I gave him some other pointers and we ended the session.

He went to the South Austin pain clinic for his regular appointment.

His doctor and PA were surprised at the decrease in his pain level.

His pain doctor was thrown off guard when Michael said he wanted to start reducing the morphine and other meds. The doctor and PA asked him how he could do that.

Michael told them that he is working with a man (me) who is teaching him how to direct his thoughts to eliminate his pain. The Physician Assistant told Michael I am getting better results than their own trained pain coaches. (I wish they want to learn what I am doing?) I encouraged him to give them all my contact information. He did.

Session #3

He reports he has been out of pain for a while. When a spasm starts, he stops it right away with the PHD quick pain relief technique. His morphine intake is reduced and he has only taken 3-4 Oxycontin pills in the last month when he used to take more than that daily. I reinforced one of the techniques and we discussed how he will use this moving forward.

Session #4

This was a wrap-up session for questions and tips. I did take him through a process of visualizing the healing and the nerve growth speeding up through his scar tissues.

People are often amazed at the results of a trained mind with useful Mind Smart Skills. It is so innate that I cannot fully explain it. Each person realizes all this once they experience it.

Great News: Lifespan increases & Brain component comes alive

He had a blood test that measures lifespan based on the medicine a person is taking. Great result!

His lifespan had increased from taking less medicinal toxicity.

AND something I did not know: his pituitary gland had been declared dead by doctors. NOW it is alive and working. Awesome results. 

I also gave him specific pointers to speed up the regrowth of nerves through scar tissue where he had numbness. Lots of cutting on his body.

Follow up

More than a year after working with him, he was in a bad accident. EMS had to cut him out of his truck. The EMTs told him that he should not have been able to walk out of that. He had sat in his car and used the Empowering Whole Relax and the pain elimination techniques. Thus, he was able to walk out fine.

This is so useful and better than all those drugs and their side effects.

Note: I am sure there may be certain situations where the medications are needed. When I work with someone with an illness I have them inform their primary care provider.

So far, all students and clients have successfully used this PHD pain relief Smart Skill.

A pill or mental focus; whichever works.

You carry it with you, in your brain’s software, ready to use it at a moment’s notice, when needed. And the side effects include: self-management and shifting into pain and peace in mind and body quickly on-cue along with a true sense of freedom in life. Plus you will use this for the rest of your life.

Later there was better news.

Within a year after we stopped sessions he was totally off all pain meds and the implant has remained turned off. He saves dollars and is bolstering his sense of well-being in life and his control over his own thoughts.

Letter sent to a pain management clinic in South Austin

I mailed a letter to the pain clinic, directly to his pain doctor and PA. I asked to coordinate my notes with his doctor visits to produce a report that could be used. I offered to show them how it is trainable with repeatable results. Give me a white board and marker, I can show it to anyone.

I heard nothing. You draw your own conclusions.

Army class experience

There are so many testimonials. I have to share this and will make it short. I had the fortune to train some Fort Hood Army folks in a wellness center a student of mine had opened up. Day one, two of the things they learned were the foundational Empowering Whole Relaxation and the PHD pain relief techniques.

Sunday morning, before the second day of class, I am watching Lionel shifting in his chair and looking around. I asked him what’s going on? He said he has had back pain for years and it was gone. I joked and said: well, stopping looking for it; what a teacher told me in my twenties. Then, I congratulated him. As everyone was sitting down, they commented their pains were also gone. Amazing how many people in the Army carry pain.

That is the first time that happened without doing the technique. It was in the air, it seems…where it worked for the collective of folks who were learning these sets of Smart Skills as they walked into the room. An enlivening energy was definitely present.

Let’s Get Real about Changes…

In my quiet within, I have been sensing that it is time that I make this blog more personal to benefit those who are considering a life change or ten . What does it look like and how does it feel to experience change?

Since 2008, I have been blogging about life skills from different approaches, results people have, quotes, videos, and ponderings; some might say meanderings. LOL

All of that is available in this blog…with the caveat that I had to restore this blog and that backup file did not have the pics and links in all posts prior to 2020. As I can, I’ll go through some old posts to restore the links and pics.

All the info is still here. Search your curiosities about self-improvement. At the bottom of each page, Click a topic in the interest cloud or select a category.

As an engineer, I can easily do all the behind the scenes maintenance and make changes. But design!? What? Me? Opportunity: If you are drawn to what I write here and have blog design skills. Contact me. Let’s work something out.

Intent of sharing more personally

I intend to share how I felt during changes so you can relate.  Share when I was limited. What were my fears? What I did to break through those limits. How it felt and what came to me when I was expanding in life. How I fell into lulls in life and how I navigated out of them. Hopefully, you will relate so that it empowers you, enlivens you, and inspires you to go for it.

I do this to be transparent in how I have used these multitudes of skills from several systems and their approaches to self-betterment.

The feedback I get from students and clients, often, is that I am authentic. THAT is my goal at the core of me. I cannot live my best life and accomplish my purpose while hiding out. I cannot guide others from a false place. This life is so full of potential, regardless of age.

What is that nudge inside that you feel at times to make a change?

My come from

I do not like to be the person up on stage for visibility purposes. I have learned how to be comfortable so that I can speak and train others. And, I do stand on the stage built by my tears, revelations, hurts, mistakes, risks, forgiveness-es, learnings, lessons, joys, loves, passions, adventures, manifesting, coming out, accepting me, and accepting the Vision I have received as my To Do  in life.

All of that plus what I am still pondering because of a great friend, J.M., who is my muse for viewing, connecting, changing, and working with the quantum energy that is vibrating within us, as us. Some new ideas are floating around in my head on how to direct this for our good.

Let’s get down to it

We can learn theory all day long but it doesn’t mean a thing until the rubber meets the road; until we practice it. The very process of experimenting with new skills helps to develop life skills in a way that works for you.

I tell clients and students to not believe what I say and present. Life is an experiment. Try it out and see what happens in life. Change a thought and watch the result. Modify and repeat. Through your experiences with these ideas, you will develop the beliefs that work for you and where you are going in life. Along the way, you are empowered with new life skills. It is a win-win situation.

Nothing in our life, externally or internally, changes without us first becoming aware that we can actually change. Then we begin. This can be simple. And it can feel insurmountable. It will seem less so once the choice is made to make a change

What is your inspiration? Where do you feel it in your body?

I am so grateful for the thing within my spirit that came to this planet to make personal changes; not just accept what is. Thankfully. I heard a very clear message at 6 years old during a violent event in the household. I was holding myself, on the floor, in the corner, door closed, crying. Shaking. Frightened. Alone.

I then heard a voice say: “Lamar. Don’t worry about this. You are going to learn how to do life better.” It was a thought that had the volume turned up loud enough inside me so that I would hear it. Listen. And heed it. Plus, it came with an overwhelming sense of peace and calm. That was not the energy I had felt in life until that moment. With these good feelings that swept over me, that goal/directive was planted within me. That voice has guided me in important moments in life. That is my inspiration and push to keep going.

We are all living in a Feeling Universe. Feelings with ideas register in our system. Ideas alone stay as untapped potential until an emotion fuels it into becoming.

My first big adult change in life

This is the first post in the ‘Let’s get real about change’ theme.

A memorable (re)defining moment* began in the last semester of college. It was a great time for jobs and it was fun to have so many options. I used my electrical engineering degree to take the job with a French company that said I would be anywhere in the world except North America. Not knowing what country I would end up in kind of excited me. After discussion with others, I happily said ‘yes’ to the job with Schlumberger International. Luckily, they placed me in the Far East.

For me, I was taking the proverbial leap off a familiar cliff and learning that I could fly. I could now be the adventurous person my dreams had shown me…and my Sagittarius horoscope says I am. LOL

I was standing on the edge of a precipice and strongly desired changes were at my fingertips. My imagination saw it while looking in the abyss full of potential. I reassured myself: I earned this opportunity with my degree. Then, the realization that for much of my life I had felt on that edge desiring change but held back. That old familiar feeling of being suppressed was a strong energy that pulled me to stay where I was. Like a gravitational pull.

This is how the ego works to prevent us from changing. My ego knew how to balance my set of my pains, limitations, dreams, thoughts, failures, successes, etc. It would have to rebalance itself and fights to do so. This is why we get an idea, then suddenly we hear thoughts and feel feelings that keep us in check. It is a tricky aspect of our consciousness.

Commit to change while being mindful of how the ego is going to attempt to stop you. Everytime a self-limiting thought or feeling pops up, re-choose your change. Do it again. Then again. Keep re-focusing. At some point the ego gets it. This is going to happen.

You have proven to yourself that this is important. You have begun the process of taming your ego. It has its uses but change is not one of them. Remain focused because the only way it will not happen is if you give up or let it go.

External change causes emotional change…

All changes you make in life involve changes in some emotion(s). Of course, being from an alcoholic family and growing up in a small town with its restrictive expectations, I could not show these emotions. They leaked out with my best friend or my mom, at times. It does not mean my emotions were not happening. I was just well trained in not showing it or discussing it. Macho. Machismo since that is all I learned from male role models. A lesson later unlearned.

Internally I had a mix of emotions and thoughts. Fear and excitement of adventure, new wonders, grief of leaving, nerves wondering what country, will I know enough, will I enjoy it, is this a bad or good decision plus the gravitational pull to stay in the familiar box of life. Oh, how much I wanted to take this job.

My biggest heartfelt concern was that my mom had been in a wheelchair for 2+ years and was divorced living in an old farmhouse in the middle of 126 acres in southeast Texas; population 150. I felt guilty thinking only of my dreams. Since a doctor had told me 3 years prior “your mom is going to die”, I was especially feeling conflicted; she was 1 in 20 women who got well from the new treatment but ended up in a wheelchair.

She continuously reassured me and told me I had to take it. She had help and would be alright.

If it were not for mom I would be working with my ‘broken’ dad in his Interstate 10 gas stations and wrecker service. He did not want me to go to college. Leaving to go to campus for the first time, he told me that he did not want me to go. I said I was going. He abruptly stopped paying for it the day I transferred from Lamar University in Beaumont to Texas A&M University in College Station. My mom sacrificed for my tuition. Then I got a few part-time jobs.

She had never mentioned my education without saying it does not end until I have my Bachelor of Science degree. She sacrificed in many ways for me to get my degree. She was also the source for inspiration at times; much needed. She gave me two books when I was in high school that spurred my thoughts that I could live a better life. Wayne Dyer’s The Sky’s the Limit and Dr. Maxwell Schultz’s Psycho Cybernetics. Books that altered the way I interacted with my thoughts and had me reconsider my place in life.

Whether or not to take this international job was clear within me. It felt like my soul was screaming at me YES while pushing me to just do it. All my engineering friends thought I was crazy. It felt like I could not ‘not’ take this job.

To me, that has become a Life Sign from my soul that I have to follow now. We always have free will to choose and sometimes the choice that suits us is so obvious that it feels like we do not have a choice.

Have you ever been there? Felt that?

To me, that is when my soul is finding the mothership, the Presence that knows my best life. Following that makes life easier. I am to follow the Lead and in its wakes, the path is clearer.

I had spent my youth since fourth grade on our farmland in tiny village, Texas. I chased cows, ran from snakes, rode horses for a while, shot the 22 rifle to scare the varments from eating our melons in the garden, shot tin cans off fence posts, played with dogs and cats, drove my go-cart across the pastures (once hitting a red ant bed. Their bites hurt). My best friend and I shot bottle rockets at each other. One of us in the barn. The other away on the shell road. I’m glad we did not burn down the old barn that leaned to its left a bit too much 🙂 Eddie and I would sit at the edge of the dynamite hole (a pond created by great uncles with a case of dynamite). We talked and dreamed like kids do.

My parents commuted to Houston for work. So, I was entertained by nature and sometimes a friend from miles away would be over. I remember watching every plane that flew over (that wasn’t a crop duster) and dreamed of being on them; working and living. I had only been out of Texas twice; Ruidoso, New Mexico and Monterey, Mexico. That last one was a Spanish class field trip on an un-air-conditioned school bus in the hot summer. We bounced all the way there and back 😉

I accepted that job offer with Schlumberger International.

I believe that what overcame the fears and old gravitational pull was the energy from youthful exuberance where mountains are surmountable + the focus on the prize + the dreams as a child of flying globally + emotional support. Note: As we get older there are ways to harness this sort of energy and focus. Too much to put in this post.

I had earned this and that felt great. And, then, this daydreaming of flying on planes from childhood was coming true. I did not know that’s how life works.

Dream it to achieve it.

On my first day of employment, my best friend since fourth grade, Eddie, picked me up to take me to the Houston airport. I could not stop crying leaving home, and my mom, Tuffy my dog, and what I knew. Then we talked on the drive and I cried a little more when I got out of Eddie’s car at the Houston airport. Whew, how life changed showing me how much I loved them through my tears.

I sat on the plane headed for Singapore via Los Angeles. My god. Singapore. As soon as I felt the power around me revving to take off I was gloriously filled with excitement, anticipation and appreciation. The huge smile on my face was matched by the huge smile in my heart. That was when I began to feel free. I was going 20+ hours on a plane to a foreign land. Awesome! Plus I am really happy that my stomach was okay flying. My only childhood plane ride was across Texas. The stewardess got mad at me and my mom for me not using the barf bag.

Singapore

Arriving in Singapore

We, the new crop of electrical engineers and physicists, trained in Singapore for a while. I found it so incredibly exhilarating that all these guys came from different countries. Wow. Befriending those from Nigeria, Japan, Switzerland, England, France, Australia, others. That sort of thing always opened me up in some new way. In training, we learned how to put out fires and how to drive in bad road conditions. I remember being told: If you do not wear your seat belt while with the company, you will be fired. So, at age 23 I began that safety habit.

Walking with these new friends was so much fun. Singapore has a reputation of being extremely clean. It is. They still have a law banning chewing gum so it does not end up on the sidewalk.

Now, onto my first trip to Indonesia

I flew to my first assignment in Indonesia arriving at the Balikpapan airport. Interesting pilot maneuver of dropping straight down from a mountain into the airport in the valley. It was a BIG roller coaster drop flying into that city. Balikpapan is the capitol of the state of Kalimantan.

Customs? is in that shack? Hmm. This is going to be interesting

Since I had been at Texas A&M and liked to dance, I had learned country and western dancing, aka kicker dancing. That was the big warehouse dance place we called the Hall of Shame. At Lamar University, we disco danced. Yep, that dates me.

I arrive at this customs building that was a two-room shack, raised up on blocks. Where there should be windows and doors, there were none. I am 6′ 4″ wearing my cowboy hat, western boots and a belt with my name on the back. Considering the average height there, I was very tall in this outfit. I do not think I wore that outfit again. I replaced cowboy boots with hard work boots. I replaced my cowboy hat with a work hard hat.

With this, I got nervous but it was okay. This is their way of doing customs. I was in this for the adventure and new experiences. It’s full-on now, dude.

Fortunately, on the plane an experienced expatriate had me re-fill in my customs form. He said just write ‘personal items’ and ‘no value’. Otherwise, they will take some money or some items or both if I declared a value. Hmm. I now know I have entered a strange land. Such excitement in me.

Seeing the first military dressed customs officer was interesting and puzzling. He looked at my customs form and at my cowboy hat. He opened my suitcases and then motioned for me to give him my cowboy hat. I did not know better, so multiple times I said ‘no’ and shook my head ‘no’. I was able to walk away wearing it.

Walking out of there with my belongings, a lot of children wanted to help. I tried to quickly calculate the dollar to the rupiah exchange rate. I think I gave a huge tip because I did not know how many rupiahs to give. This was my first experience of local children in a third world country. It was a shock to see the conditions and their almost lusting for money or food. They had to. My heart felt it.

I was driven to the Western hotel where expats stayed; western, as in developed countries. I wanted to walk so another expat and I explored some. Dirt streets. Vans with loudspeakers driving the streets. A language that was so foreign. Yippee!

Then…

Local Food

This place to eat was interesting, so to speak. Doors open. Some flies. We sat down at one of the picnic bench tables. Hold on… this is a new experience: The waiter went to the window display of food. He picked up that room temperature food and sat it on our table. Hmm. We talked some then ate it. We figured if this is what they do, then why not. I am fortunate my stomach agreed it was okay. We were charged by the estimated amount of food we ate. Though, from then on I ate at the restaurant in the motel.

The next morning I got into a helicopter for an exciting 45-minute ride into the jungle. The pilot flew in the Vietnam war. He asked us if it was okay for a more exciting flight. Of course, yes. He dropped down quickly to fly above the mostly un-driveable road between the forest of trees. Yep, it was exciting. My first helicopter ride. My second foreign country. The beauty. The third world-ness. The friendliness of the locals. All of it was fulfilling my long held need to see other lands.

We landed in a camp for working expatriates near the Mahakam River Delta on this island of Borneo. Talk about new experiences.

Strong change

I learned that it is valuable (sometimes, a must) to stretch myself, thus my life. I learned I could thoroughly enjoy life through new experiences. I could manage some fears that came up. I was enough to do the job well. I met a multitude of people from other countries, new cultures, new ideas. Plus the beauty of eye and heart pleasing vistas that no words can describe. Flying… Mind and Heart are expanding.

For contemplation

What did you do in early adulthood that stretched you?
Was it fearful? Then exciting? Or something else?

How is an inkling of a dream nudging you these days?
Is there a way to nourish it?

You do not have to jump in recklessly. Set it as a goal and get curious about what this means to you. The energy of curiosity will bring new ideas to you from your intuition, hearing it from someone, noticing a news article or whatever way it can reach you.

Keep it simple.

To create something takes 3 easy steps, 1 of which is NOT YOUR JOB!

Step 1. Craft in words what you desire in life whether it is external or internal as if it is already done. Add an emotion to fuel it.
“I am thrilled to have this new job paying me $xx.”
“I love living in this welcoming, safe and productive home.”

Step 2. Not your job

Step 3. Maintain a state of joy and gratitude. This is the state of receiving.


To provide credit where it’s due, I learned this from Abraham, the teacher
To grasp this concept and practice it is to direct your own life.

What you place your attention on, the Life Force goes and grows more of that.

Do you focus more on your perceived problems more than you focus on your goals?

Whichever… it’s a choice. This Force does not have an opinion. It simply amplifies.

Think of a magnifying glass amplifying the natural sun’s light.

Thus it is important you get clear on what you choose in life.

Step 1. Write out what you want to manifest in a short statement that excites you when you read it. Then craft it to be as if it’s already done.

And finally, add fuel to power it. This is what e-motions do. Your e-motions are energies in motion coursing throughout you. Your thoughts are dry and cannot manifest without fuel.

What good feeling emotion will you have when this is on your life? That’s the e-motion to include in your statement.

Step 2. NOT YOUR JOB
Most people learn to look at the goal and logically figure out how to go about getting it. That works using your logical brain functioning…
…and what about your intuitive brain functioning?

Your logic is based only on what you have already learned in this life; it is incapable of having a new thought. ONLY your intuitive mind receives new thoughts and ideas. Thus using your logic to obtain a goal guarantees you will do it the same way as you always have. And if you have never manifested this goal then your logic doesn’t know how. This is when most people give up by saying ‘I can’t do that. I can’t have that.’ Thus another dream dies and we lose that part of us.

But consider this. Your intuition knows other ways to achieve it. How great would it be to simply focus on your statement throughout the day and allow your intuition to guide you to it.

Yes, it sounds strange. As an engineer I’ve settled it in my mind by realizing we have a Whole Brain that consists of the left hemisphere doing the logical functions WITH the right hemisphere connecting us to our potential in life.

What I’m saying is: Do not figure it out. Do not try to figure out how to achieve it.

Here is what I do. Wonder what opportunity is going to pop up or what new idea that will pop into my mind that I can follow.

Step 3. Think about this. What goal have you achieved when you’re feeling dejected and incapable? Hardly any, right?

So giving gratitude for what you have and enjoy builds good feelings. This leads to feeling joy.

This is the state of receiving when using this manner of manifestation.

Example: I was teaching part 1 of my brain neural programming class to a group of hypnotists outside Boerne, Texas. We got to this manifestation part and how they could use their intuition which I had just trained their brain to use more often and on call. I was saying you could get a new car by going to the bank, getting preapproved and finding the car.

Or, I know a healer friend that when he needs a new car someone will buy themself a new car and give this man their old car.

Or people win a car.

Or… there are an infinite number of ways to achieve what you desire once you start to use your intuition.

I went to lunch with this lady hypnotist from class in her new Lexus SUV; nice car. She told me how she got this car. She had been eyeing a Lexus SUV but did not have enough down payment $$ to get the monthly payment affordable. She went to lunch regularly with a group of her girlfriends and had been telling them about her desire to have this vehicle. After one lunch one of the ladies walked out with her and said that she and her husband just had a bank CD payout. She wanted to give her what she needed for the down payment. My student was shocked… and accepted the offer. Thus she got the car she had been focusing upon.

That’s an unexpected way she manifested her Lexus SUV.

The fun part about manifesting using your intuition is the almost miraculous stories you get to tell your friends.

And this was not a miracle. This is a way you can use your intuition to manifest.

The first few times be sure to NOT choose something that you’ve struggled to manifest for a long time. Set yourself up for success. Use this method a few times THEN go for the gusto.

One last thing, keep focusing on it and look for opportunities until it happens. The only way it won’t happen is if you give up.

Your Imagination is Your Way Out of a Limited Life Box

Everyone goes through phases where something in life is too rote or not working anymore or it is just time for that change. The more a person evolves in this lifetime, the more a person has to grow out of limiting life boxes.

The challenge is that people tend to linger on what is not working. Neuroscientists say that the brain is designed to learn a habit and stick with it. It is in our brain’s wiring, i.e. neural programming. One loud NO registers immediately and the brain changes. It takes several strong YES’s to register in the brain.

Focus into the field of limitless possibilities.
Focus the Hubble Telescope into darkness for a long time yields an abundance of, at first, unseen celestial bodies. This is how we use our mental and heart focus to see into our own darkness to reveal what is truly there for us: an abundant and fulfilling life.

The great news is that consciousness supersedes habitual programming. It just takes knowing how.

Proper use of consciousness leads us out of stuck-ness

Every single thing we have done in life involves imagining it first. It is such an automatic process that we may not be aware of it. And it is our saving grace in life. The imagination creates the life framework to change and, done at the right brain frequency, reprograms the heart and brain neurons so that we can accomplish a desired change in life.

So, have your pity party 🙂 It is a part of the process…and oh my, I have had mine for way too long. At some point we are recreating the same thing over and over. When we only use our logical mind it is so focused on the past that it is recreating it for the future, over and over. Life becomes a continuous groundhog day, as in the movie.

Until we declare STOP the madness!

Make the shift:

  • Pause your normal thoughts.
  • Focus on deep breathing for a few moments. Breathe in through your nose being mindful of the air flow coming in. Hold it to the count of three. Exhale through the mouth noticing the flow of air coming up from your lungs, out your mouth. Do this a few times.
  • The more you focus on this flow of air, the more you remove the energy from those incessant thoughts and shift into your inner center where all real power comes forth.
  • That begins the shift.
  • Focus your attention onto what you desire, as if you have it, and let the energy that was fueling the old thoughts bring life to what you desire.
  • This shifts you onto your new chosen path.

Rinse and repeat. Do this process daily or even multiple times each day. This tells yourself that ‘I am making this change’. And you are telling Life, the Universe, what you desire instead. Stick with it to observe new ideas, opportunities and more come to you.

I hope this helps begin your process of change. Have patience and be willing to do something new to see the results you have in life.

“I can’t imagine that” Things we say, Say a whole lot. #WordsMatter

“I can’t imagine that.”

Someone asks you if you want to go skydiving. You reply quickly ‘I can’t imagine doing that’.

Or, do you want to expand into a bigger or nicer home. “I can’t imagine that.”

Someone describes their life of abundance. You think to yourself “I can’t imagine that for me’. 

It is a good practice to start noticing your automatic replies to things. Wonder if maybe it’s just not for you or maybe it’s an unconscious limit showing itself to be re-looked at to see if that stills applies to who you are now.

These are declarative statements we sometimes make when something seems too big, too outside the box, too much abundance or too (whatever). And sometimes we just do not have interest or curiosity. That’s valid when it truly applies. 

The truth is people say these things without conscious thought. Wherever they were adopted from, they are showing you and others your limits. Recognize that some limits are necessary and some just stop us from growing. If you don’t catch your self or have a friend notice what you say, then you may be giving clues as to why you are not able to change, be who you choose to be or not achieve your goals.

A Progression of Personal Development that seems unbelievable, if it was not reported so often

We are so much more powerful than we ever give ourselves credit for. There is a way to use our brain, as it is designed, to make changes within ourselves and in our experiences of life.

Cognitive therapists talk about how our brain is designed to use both cognitive and intuitive functioning. The approaches I have learned activate the mostly unknown truth that we can also use our intuitive functioning just as easily as we use our logic. It provides immeasurable benefits.

It just takes your willingness and the right training.

I first learned how to use Left/Right Brain Integration Skills at age 23. It has empowered me in ways that my students now experience; below. The fantastic news is that once we use these skills our life opens up and we can continue to expand out of any small life box in which we find ourselves.

Here is a progression of personal development reported to me by a student.

  • My dreams for my future have expanded.
  • I am more grounded now
  • Doesn’t get pulled off center as easily as before
  • Manage my emotions better
  • Has set better boundaries with others
  • Picks up on other people’s feelings, sometimes thoughts
  • Energy does not get drained by others
  • Someone close to me is changing in good ways

Some from other students:

  • After the first class, my husband told me I was much calmer and more relaxed. I used to fidget, always be busy, and talk a lot.
  • I have decreased my worrying and fears
  • Before I send a business email, I close my eyes and imagine the reception I want. It works. Thank you.
  • Had a bad accident. Immediately I used the instant relaxation technique. Once they cut me out of my truck, I was able to step out and walk normally. EMT was surprised I was not hurting.
  • I have started having new thoughts from intuition popping in
  • I have noticed more creative ideas come in for work and personal
  • Energy does not get drained by others
  • Am weeding out thoughts that don’t belong to me and replacing them with ‘who I want to be’ thoughts.
  • I am more in touch with what I am thinking and feeling when I am interacting in life

From some who took an advanced class that includes healing. Working in partners one person, the medical intuitive, is told the name, age, gender, and location of someone with an illness. He or she scans the person and detects medical problems. Then they use healing energies to help that person heal.

  • I detected a family member’s medical condition and told her to go to the doctor. It was confirmed and now she is getting treatment.
  • When scanning the person, I actually saw her face and hair color. Describing it to the person who knows, it was confirmed.
  • I detected that someone had no use of their legs
  • I shrunk metastasized tumors from all over my body. It was confirmed at Houston’s MD Anderson hospital. In a session with Lamar my pain level was over a 10. He guided me to lower it to 4. Then I used the technique to lower it and manage it
  • I was able to have skin tags shrink and go away
  • I detected a deep hip injury and the underlying emotion. Imagining I was rubbing his hip bone and placing a healing salve on it, his pain and limp went away quickly

From me, blog owner, Lamar: I used healing energies for a woman in person. From a hospital stay she contracted MRSA in her bladder. Three rounds of antibiotics did not help. I did this imagining my hands are holding her bladder and spreading a healing salve. During it she started saying ‘Oh. Oh. Oh…’ Afterwards she told me she felt my hands holding her bladder. The next day in a pre-scheduled doctor visit, they tested her and the infection was gone.

From my own experience and reports from others, these are natural progressions which occur for everyone who learns and uses it.
