From Thought to Form

From thought to form takes mental focus, mental clarity and inspired action.

Having moved back to Houston from Saudi Arabia in the mid-1980s I got involved with my most influential personal growth teacher ever. To this date no person has ever had such a profound influence on guiding me to go deep within myself for the answers to my life as Frank Natale. I had taken the Silva Method BLS class in Kuala Lumpur about four years earlier.

When Frank Natale said “Thoughts Create Your Reality” I was perplexed and confused, but most of all I was intrigued and curious. I was in the first week of his six-week Results Course which taught people how to do goal setting, declaring who you are in life and multi-dimensional reality creating all mixed with the new mind science that is called Quantum Physics. That night after class I drove downtown Houston pondering the idea that every single building, every highway and road, every park and home… all of them began with one person’s thought. That is all they were in their embryonic phase. The seed for form is thought.

Then I thought, well what was the process to go from thought to finished building? This is the Creative Process of Life. This is part of what was covered in that six-week class. That one person with the thought had to be creative in developing the plans, finding the financing, working with like-minded people and he or she had to remain focused, determined and on task. If he or she gave up then the goal was not accomplished.

It is important to realize that thoughts are just the beginning point. It takes continued focus and action to make it come into form. This is one of the concepts that people have used to bash the movie The Secret, quite often for their own gain. This movie does mention taking action. It just chose to focus more so on the origin of what a person has in their life: their thoughts. And what a great gift that movie brought to human consciousness. It opened up millions of peoples’ minds to their own power.

Let’s look briefly at that process from thought to form. Realize that since I have been teaching and training since the 1980s I can expound on each of these steps as there is a wealth of information in and about each aspect of creation. It is important to realize that each of us has tens of thousands of thoughts daily. There is no way that you can pay attention to that many thoughts and do anything else in life. Therefore we filter these thoughts and make choices on which ones we will hold in our mental space for further contemplation. The reason thoughts creating your reality is a concept that garners such attention is because no one, until the moment we actually hear this concept, has ever told us that we can pick and choose our thoughts. It is crucial to realize that Your Mind is Your Dominion. Not a single person can tell you which thoughts to pay attention to. At some level it is always a personal choice. This is a very important realization to have so that you can being to create the life that reflects your desires. Select the thoughts that will get you where you choose to be and discard those that will not. It is that simple. It just takes training and practice to develop the mind-muscle that gently and consciously lets go of those unwanted thoughts.

Once you have chosen the thoughts that you want, there are then two steps to empower them. First write them down on a goal list. Writing them down sends a message to your brain: I am paying attention to these thoughts therefore I must want this in my life. After you have them on your goal list and review and imagine them daily, the second way to empower these chosen thoughts is to speak them. The vibrational energy that your voice produces is another strong signal to your physical senses that this is to come into form in your life. This is why gossip and talking of worrying thoughts is so detrimental to our lives. It gives it some power in your life and tells others that this is what you focus on. Is that how you want to be perceived?

One caution on speaking your goals. ONLY speak these goal-thoughts to supportive people. Do not allow yourself to drain away possibilities by entertaining other peoples’ limiting thoughts. That is their limits; not yours. Just discard those thoughts. If you are going for something that other people in your day-to-day life would not comprehend then just do not tell them. Simple. This is also why it is energizing to have like-minded people around you. This is why I offer a discount when two or more friends/family members sign up for the classes at the same time. I encourage hanging out with those you can share your dreams with. Consider joining or forming a MasterMind group. Ask me about that if you want.

Another important note about sharing is that sometimes it is best not share with anyone, at least for a while. If it is something that is very far outside your current reality then the first step is to convince yourself it can/will happen. Once you have accomplished this, then you share it. And in some cases you never share it until it is created into form. I have a few of those.

Once you have written your goals and shared them appropriately then you will start taking action on the opportunities that will start appearing in your life. There is a part of the brain, the Reticular Activating System, that recognizes what you are focusing on as a goal. This opens up the filter of your mind to be able to see the opportunities that will lead you to your desired goals. This is why when you decide that you want to buy a blue VW convertible it is as if Volkswagen all of the sudden puts hundreds of them on the roads you travel.

The good news is that as long as you stay focused on your chosen goals they must happen. The flipside is that when you get distracted by those pesky, limiting thoughts do not pay attention to them. If you ‘give in’ and just hold these limits in mind then you have just let go of your goal.

In summary, here are the steps from thoughts to form:

– Clarify what you want. Include details and colors.

– Claim it and write it down as if it is already accomplished

– Surrender limiting thoughts and refocus on your chosen ones

– Share appropriately

– Hang out with like-minded folks

– Act on the opportunities that come to mind

– Receive your life as you desire it to be

One final step… share your successes with me. I LOVE hearing success stories. Plus sharing your success with someone sends a message to your mind that you accomplish what you choose to set as goals. This builds self worth and value.
